The introduction

I have started this blog to hopefully give inspiration to other Coeliacs that there is a gourmet life after diagnosis. I'm a former chef who still has a very strong interest in food, I was also recently diagnosed as Coeliac at 41. After my diagnosis I honestly thought my life was over (in the culinary sense) but slowly yet surely I am finding out it may not be so.

On my short journey so far into this gluten free world, I have encountered some incredibly shocking gluten free foods - it is my intention with this blog to post my tried and true gluten free recipes, share my go-to products, road test gluten free products on the market and to review gluten free restaurants/shops etc.  Hopefully this will make someone else's journey a little easier or at the very least give someone a new recipe to try out.

I should point out that I live in Melbourne Australia, so items/ingredients mentioned should be able to be obtained in Australia, and at the very least online from a gluten free retailer if not your local supermarket.  I also sometimes cook with products that are gluten free by ingredient and products change, so please check all product ingredients before using  - I don't have some of the horrendous reactions that some coeliacs have to being 'glutened' but I don't want to be responsible for anyone else having one!
